The fourth edition of Techsylvania, the Leading Technology event of Eastern Europe is fastly approaching. The event will take place at the Student’s Culture Hall, in Cluj-Napoca, between June 17-20, where are expected 1,500 participants. The event is comprised 3 main parts: a conference, where prestigious thought leaders from thriving industries will join to share their valuable experiences, a 24-hour hackathon and Startup Avalanche, a competition for early-stage companies, where the grand prize is a 9 day trip to Silicon Valley.
During its past three editions, Techsylvania became a convergence point between IT passionates and entrepreneurs of the local system. Techsylvania offered them valuable opportunities to make themselves known, through opportunities such as Startup Avalanche, a competition for early-stage startups and Startup Showcase, where companies are invited to present their products.
For this edition, Techsylvania offers complimentary tickets to teenagers under 18, who have a passion for technology or entrepreneurship. All they have to do is send an e-mail to [email protected] or a personal message on the event’s Facebook page, where they share why they want to attend Techsylvania hackathon or the conference.
This year’s edition features speakers from top companies such as NVIDIA, SAP, Allianz Ventures, Financial Times, Amazon, Wunderlist, McKinsey, 500 Startups, SamsungNEXT and more. Among the technical experts and investors, Oxford’s professor of Computational Neuroscience and Neurosurgery and MIT’s director of Synthetic Intelligence Labs and Mind Project, Newton Howard will join the crew of speakers. Also, Tariq Krim, founder and CEO of Jolicloud and the “Young Global Leader” named by World Economic Forum will come to Techsylvania.
There are even more surprises for IT passionates. New gadgets have been added for software developers to code on during the hackathon. Gadgets such as Amazon Echo, Jetson TX2 Module de la NVIDIA, Electric Imp and Arduino. Techsylvania is an event designed for tech savvies and business passionates. The event was created four years ago by Oana Petruș and Vlad Ciurca, aiming to become the connecting point between local communities, newest trends and also the most influential people in the technology industry. In 2016 alone over 1,300 attendees joined the event, and their number grows yearly by a double digit margin. Techsylvania has proven to be the leading technology event in Eastern Europe and Romania.
